Spotlight on the Judges of the Think Global Awards 2022
We are thrilled to be joined by an impressive and diverse group of judges for the 2022 Think Global Awards. In this, the first of two articles, we will be taking a closer look at the first six judges in a little more detail.
Kathleen Pierce
Kathleen is a visionary, practical, cross-functional leader with a global, long-term focus and more than 25 years of experience in life sciences and high tech. Her current role is as Principal Analyst with Forrester, where she gets to work with clients worldwide. Kathleen describes this as her “dream job,” where she gets to build models and write research encapsulating her best thinking and creativity and peer review them with a diverse crowd of people who just “get it.” Before this, Kathleen spent over 13 years working for Illumina as Director, Content Operations and Director, Global Commercial Enablement.
Magdalena Daccord
Magdalena is the Chief Executive of FH Europe, the European FH Patient Network based in Switzerland. She brings a robust cross-functional healthcare experience from non-profit organizations in drug development, patient advocacy, and the pharmaceutical industry to this role. In her previous role with the Women’s Brain Project, a Swiss-based non-profit organization, she advocated for new, personalized ways to develop and perform medical treatments for women’s brain and mental health, caregiving, and prevention strategies together with novel technologies, considering sex and gender differences. Magdalena represented the WBP at the European Council for a Position Paper launch and the World Health Organization at a mental health summit.
Mathilde K. Jakobsen
Mathilde is the Co-founder and CEO of Fresh.Land, disrupting the food industry with a new sustainable model that brings fresh products directly from the farm to the consumer – no intermediaries, no processing, and no ripening/storage chambers. Mathilde believes that diversity is key to disruptive thinking, bold ideas, and creativity, and as a result, the team in Fresh.Land comprises 14 nationalities, an age span from 18-60 and 50/50 men and women in leadership positions. She holds a BSc in International Business and an MSc in Management of Innovation and Business Development from the Copenhagen Business School.
Avril McArdle
Avril is the Marketing Director with Sage Ireland, the technology and business software solutions company; previously, Avril worked with Glanbia from 2016-2020 as Head of Marketing for their direct consumer channels. She now supports Sage’s ambitious growth objectives for Ireland. Avril leads the growth of the company’s software solutions for the cloud space, helping businesses, accountants, and Sage partners through the company’s advocacy and partner programs. Avril holds a BA in Marketing from Technological University Dublin and an MA from Trinity College Dublin.
Ciara Rushe
Ciara is the Membership Manager at the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, having joined the organization in 2016. Before this, she was a member of the US Embassy Youth Council. Ciara holds a BSc in Geography from Queens University in Belfast and an MSc in Business and Management from Trinity College Dublin.
Doyle Buehler
Doyle is a best-selling author, global entrepreneur, and international speaker specializing in strategic digital branding and marketing. Doyle has spent over 14 years in the business world, making things happen online and offline. He is a leading innovator in the online, e-commerce worlds and at the intersections of entrepreneurship and digital innovation. His experience spans various global industries, including travel, insurance, pharmaceuticals, banking, investment, hospitality, finance, events, and learning.
